My MAC Collection

For those of you who might have already realized by either following me on Twitter or my Instagram (both @courtneybekahx) if you wish to check them out; you may have noticed that recently I have been spending a lot of money or a lot of money for me at least in MAC. MAC is probably my favourite higher end brand, despite this I believe MAC is actually cheap for the quality of product you are getting, especially with a foundation in comparison to a drug store it is just over double the cost however totally worth it in a personal opinion.

I’ve been wanting to do this blog post for a while however for several reasons I haven’t. Firstly, I slightly went of blogging due to college and work and despite having a  few free hours in the week, in all honesty I had gone of YouTube and blogging. Having a fresh start at college made me forget what I enjoy doing and don’t get me wrong the idea of carrying on and maybe new people finding out seemed daunting. However, seeing as pretty much everyone knows for some reason or other I thought why the heck not start again and I got my motivation back by my friend Francesca. Francesca is someone I became friends with last year and I see her as a little sister and she started a blog and it’s amazing and her style makes me envious how she can pull off the 90’s styles; which she made a post about on her blog (gives you no excuses to not check her out. You can click here or visit her blog and follow her on Twitter – @francesvbelle.

On with the blog post here is an overall look on the few items in my collection which I plan to carry on adding to throughout this year.

I’ll be discussing my lipstick collection in a seperate post that will be coming soon however I’ll discuss the advantages and disadvantages / pros and cons of each product and a description to help you out if you have not tried these before.

Firstly, the eye shadow Honey Lust is a beautiful shade and when applied to eyelid is like a shimmery rose gold shade which I adore however the only thing I would say is it’s a buildable eye shadow for definite, as when I done a swatch in store it was high pigmented however when using a brush a lot stays on the brush; maybe it’s my brushes however this is from my own personal experience. Secondly, Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation, is the best powder I’ve tried by far, it creates a clear matte flawless look on my face and doesn’t go ‘cakey’ or ‘muddy’ when I apply my bronzer. The only con is that it can make me look overly powdery on the T-Zone area if too much is applied, however for setting under eye concealer it is amazing. Thirdly is the Veluxe Pearlfusion Eyeshadow in Brownluxe, I have nearly had this product for two years this summer and it has served me well. Would I purchase again? I probably wouldn’t just because there is so many eye shadows to choose from and try out. Furthermore, I would love to create my own palettes and organize in the types and colours etc, therefore I might not 100% repurchase however would 100% recommend. Forth, is the Studio Fix Fluid Foundation. This foundation I am in love with, the quality of the coverage is amazing, despite being buildable one or two layers gives plenty of coverage especially in conjunction with the Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation. The only cons is that it comes without a pump which is similar to NARS as I have realized and witnessed that with NARS foundations as well. Due to this I have gone through quite a lot of this foundation in such a small amount of time; around two weeks and I could see myself having to buy this every month. Therefore, I just wish it was a bigger bottle for the price of £22 however I am yet to find a foundation that matches the quality of this. Finally, the Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer is yet again one of the best concealers I have ever tried, when purchashed I was worried that the little tiny tub wouldn’t serve me well, however, it has beaten my expectations and is proving to last longer than imagined. The tiniest bit is needed for a flawless coverage and is amazing at covering up spots, scars and blemishes. I recently tried it on a relative who has a birthmark which has proved to be impossible to cover at least by 50% and it covered the birthmark to around 85% without foundation.

I am in love with all of my MAC collection and I cannot wait to start building my collection up even more, I have a few items on my wishlist so keep your eye out, they might just make it into a future blog post. If you have any recommendations feel free to tweet me them @courtneybekahx, every girl could do with a few beauty recommendations right?
